John keen to turn director

Bollywood actor John Abraham, who once ruled the modeling world and debuted in Bollywood with 'Jism' in 2003, recently during an interview revealed that he’s keen to don director’s hat as soon as possible.

"I have ideas and I want to become a director very soon and, when I become one, I will be damn good at it,” said the model-turned-actor, who has managed to achieve what most models aspire for when they turn actors.

John added that he’s quite lucky as he would not be all alone whenever he decides to change tracks.

"I have good friends around me who are directors and writers. They are all willing to sit with me, help me and formulate screenplays," revealed the actor, who has over 30 films to his credit till date.

Direction can wait
In just seven years since he made his Bollywood debut, John has managed to work in almost all sorts of genres from issue-based films like ‘Water’ and ‘New York’ to comedies like ‘Dostana’ to action in ‘Dhoom'.

However, the model-turned-actor believes that he still has a lot more to achieve as an actor before he turns director.

"I want to first just settle down properly and singularly prove myself in a big way and then I will get into direction," added John.

Due to his ambition, he has decided to wait five-eight years rather than making an abrupt entry into direction.

Presently, John is working on filmmaker Nishikant Kamat’s Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster action film ‘Kaakha Kaakha'.

Audience accepts realism today
Ever since John has entered into films, he has always been targeted by critics and audiences alike for his understated style of acting.

However, as per John, over the years, audiences have accepted him and his acting as they no longer expects actors to be too melo-dramatic.

"I've always been an understated actor. I'm not into over-projection,” said the actor, who will be turning 38 next month.
