Mira Nair axes Shahid from her next

As per latest buzz in tabloids, US-based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair after waiting for Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor to make himself available for her upcoming film for the past couple of months, she has finally decided to move ahead with her project without him.

Apparently, couple of months back, Shahid was shortlisted to play main lead in Mira’s upcoming yet-to-be titled film, an adaptation of Pakistani author Mohsin Hamid’s bestselling novel “The Reluctant Fundamentalist".

Initially, even Shahid had shown interest in the film as he found the script interesting and also did not want to lose the golden opportunity to work with the critically acclaimed filmmaker.

However, when the time finally arrived to start shooting for Mira’s film, Shahid started dilly-dallying about the dates.

As per sources familiar with the matter, Mira for a while waited patiently for Shahid, but after finding out the reason why Shahid is behaving like this suddenly, she decided to find another actor.

Shahid’s reason
As everyone knows, the young actor these days is quite busy working on his father’s directorial debut film ‘Mausam'.

Everything related to the film is being kept tightly under wraps, whether its film’s story or Shahid’s new look in it.

Reportedly, Shahid’s new look in ‘Mausam’ is the primary reason why he kept Mira waiting for dates.

“Shahid is currently shooting for Mausam. He has a particular look for Mausam and would not shoot any other film.

"Mira’s film revolves around a Pakistani man and she needed Shahid to have a bearded look for the character. He kept dillydallying and did not revert with the dates,” revealed a source close to the actor.

Fresh faces for the film
Reportedly, immediately after realizing that Shahid might not provide her with dates anytime soon, Mira instructed her team to start auditioning for new actor.

If the rumors are to be believed, then three known faces auditioned for the film are Ali Zafar, Rehan Khan and Pratik Babbar.
