Action Replayy: Romcom of 70s

All set to make this Diwali a memorable experience is Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’, starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan that is all set to roll out on Nov. 5.

The film, made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, is based on Shah’s theatre play by the same name, which in turn is a copy of ‘Back to Future 1’.

Randhir Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Kirron Kher, Om Puri, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Rannvijay Singh, Sudeepa Singh and Rajpal Yadav are part of the supporting cast of this romantic comedy, expected to be shown in over 1,800 screens across India and abroad.

The plot
The time travel comedy film revolves around Bunty, played by Aditya and his parents, father Kishen, (Akshay) and mother Mala (Aishwarya).

Fed-up of his parents continuous fighting and bickering, he is of the opinion that his life would have been good, if his parents had a love marriage. He is afraid of marrying and keeps putting off girlfriend Tanya (Sudeepa Singh), whenever she tries bringing up the subject.

But Professor Anthony Gonsalves (Randhir Kapoor), who is Tanya’s grandfather, asks Bunty to either marry Tanya or forget her.

As the story unfolds, Bunty steals the professor’s time machine and goes back to the 1970s, with an attempt to rearrange his parents’ life and make them fall in love.

From here, the retro twist is introduced in the movie and the audience is surely going to like this one.

Great music and chemistry
The music of the film is good and entertaining. ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ is amongst the best songs of the movie and has been liked by music-lovers.

USP of ‘Action Replayy’ is the awesome pairing of Akshay and Aishwarya, who look good together.

“Action Replayy’ is wholesome entertainment and has something for everyone. The tone is light, but there are moments that will tug at your heart,’ said Akshay Kumar.

Aishwarya added, “I’m so glad that I finally got to work with Vipul and Akshay… we got to work on a subject where we’ve pushed the envelope in the comedy genre.”
