Deepika opts out of Anurag's 'Silence'

According to the latest tabloids reports, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was gearing up work in Anurag Basu’s next ‘Silence’ alongside her ex Ranbir Kapoor, has opted out of the project for good.

If the sources are to be believed, then presence of Deepika’s ex Ranbir Kapoor in the film has nothing to do with her decision to walk out of the project.

Apparently, "Basu kept changing the script every now and then. Three meetings down the line, Deepika realized that not only her role but also the entire story of the film was being changed by Basu,” revealed a source close to the actress on condition of anonymity.

The source went on to add, “Hence, she chose not to do the project. However, she was extremely professional about it. She told Basu that she was opting out."

Keeping personal and professional issues separate
The source went on to reveal that initially Basu had approached the ex-lovers for the ‘Silence'.

Both Deepika and Ranbir even agreed for a joint narration session, proving once and for all that they have on issues when it comes to coming together onscreen for a project despite their past.

“During the joint narration, he even told Deepika and Ranbir that the casting of the mentally-challenged role is not so important, as he could even cast a man in that role. So, his plan was mainly Deepika and Ranbir all the way," revealed the source.

However, things did not work out, reportedly, due to Basu’s obsession to introduce new changes in the script of the film almost every day.

Deepika out, Priyanka in
Rumor also has it that after Deepika told Basu about her decision, he approached Priyanka Chopra, who has agreed to do the movie.

Reportedly, he had even approached his friend actress Kangana Ranaut for the role but she refused him as she believes he’s typecasting her in mentally-disturbed characters.
