Aditya Chopra initially wanted to rope in Tom Cruise for the role of Raj Malhotra in 'Dilwale...

In a recent interview when the ‘Singh is Kinng’ star was asked about a moment in history that he would like to witness, Akshay quickly responded that he would like to witness his dad-in-law Rajesh Khanna’s stardom in the 70’s.
“I would want to go back in time and witness the super-stardom of my father-in-law Rajesh Khanna,' replied Akshay.
Not only does the actor like to witness Rajesh Khanna’s stardom but would like to witness the colorful 70’s of his parents’ wedding.
Like his retro film ‘Action Replayy’, which deals with the past and making few changes in that time period, Akshay too would like to go back in time to polish his most favorite movie.
Speaking about his favorite film, Akshay stated that ‘Sangharsh’ is a film that is very close to his heart, and if he gets a chance to back in time, he would definitely like to make a few changes in the film and release it today.
Akshay’s look is inspired from Duttsaab
In this film, you get to see Akshay sporting the popular retro look of the 70’s that includes Polka dots, flared trousers, bold printed shirts, big sunglasses and he also sports long hair.
It’s also believed that the 43-year-old actor managed to incorporate the look of the late yesteryear’s actor Sunil Dutt. Akshay had aped the exact look and the dress style of Sunil Dutt in ‘Zakhmee’.
"I was inspired by Sunil Dutt ji's look in 1975 film Zakhmee for my appearance in Action Replayy," stated the actor.
“I was quite comfortable sporting the long hair. It's just that it was a pain to wear this wig because it used to take one-and-half hours to wear it. Otherwise it was good fun. Even wearing bold prints and polka dots was interesting," further added Akshay.
However, when the actor was asked why he didn’t copy the popular style of his father-in law Rajesh Khanna in the film, Akshay stated that he would rather like to model one star instead of presenting too many varied looks of five to six popular matinee idols in ‘Action Replayy’.
“Yes, my father-in-law was an icon but Duttsaab’s look gelled better in this case,” responded Akshay.
‘Action Replayy’ has an additional letter
After his last stunner ‘London Dreams’ bombed at the box office, filmmaker Vipul Shah has become too cautious about his upcoming Akshay and Aishwarya starrer becoming a hit.
After consulting a numerologist, Shah has evidently added an extra 'y' in the title of the film.
Speaking about the extra letter, Shah stated, "It's because of numerology that we have altered the spelling of the film. We all are superstitious, so we have kept the name according to numerology."
