Saif's deal ruins Vishal's 'Dreams'

Producer, actor Saif Ali Khan has chosen to walk out of Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming film 'Dreams'.

This is not due to creative differences between the two but because of Vishal's refusal to the deal offered by chhote nawab.

Saif's safe deal
The 'big deal' was that Saif wanted the ingenious filmmaker to direct a film for his home production, Illuminati Films, in lieu of his role in 'Dreams'.

As if this was not enough, Saif also added that he would choose the script for the film to be directed by Bhardwaj.

The barter trick didn't go well with the award winning director and a shell shocked Vishal retorted, “How would I commit to a film whose script I have not even seen! I wouldn’t mind doing the film, provided I approve of the script first.”

Saif seems to have forgotten how Vishal's 'Omkara' rescued his drowning acting career in Bollywood. It was 'Langda Tyagi's character that landed him critical acclamation and meaningful roles in films.

It was after Saif won the Filmfare award for 'Best Actor in a Negative Role' for 'Omkara' that changed his life and filmmakers started taking him as a serious actor, and not as a side hero.

Interestingly, Vishal Bhardwaj's trump card, Shahid Kapoor, with whom he has given 'Kaminey', and who was eager to work with the director in 'Kaminey 2', too has refused to work in 'Dreams'.

A source said, “Bhardwaj is a director who sticks to his script and vision. Often, many actors are apprehensive and nervous before signing up for a character in Bhardwaj’s films.

Both Saif and Shahid took a long time to say ‘yes’ to Bhardwaj for ‘Omkara’ as well as ‘Kaminey’. This time too, the role is very challenging but fruitful.”

Priyanka and Deepika in Vishal's next
Buzz has it that Priyanka Chopra was miffed with her favorite director for not casting her in his upcoming venture. The rumour gained further momentum when reports of Deepika Padukone playing the lead role in 'Dreams' caught limelight.

Latest reports claim that Vishal has finalized Piggy Chops for the film, while Deepika will play an equally significant part in the film.

“There are two heroines in the film. The male lead will now be either a fresh face or a well established star,” the source confirmed.
