"I have this (smoking) bad habit. I try to get rid of this habit. As you are asking about Goa thing, I do not want to discuss this but I would like to say that smoking was allowed in the place where I was doing that....," said the actor.
Few days back tabloids reported that while shooting for his next film, Ajay was caught smoking in a prohibited area in Goa and was fined.
Ajay graced the launch event as he has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the campaign by the Mumbai police to create awareness and alert citizens. He also took the pledge to fight terrorism.
Proud to be associated with campaign
After giving clarification on the smoking incident, Ajay asked media not to ask questions that are not related to “Jagrut Mumbaikar” campaign as he’s there to promote it and not to talk about himself.
He added that he’s proud to be part of the campaign and is feeling honored that Mumbai police thought he would be good brand ambassador for it.
"Because of the police, Mumbai is now one of the safest cities. We should co-operate with the police in all ways.
By doing this we are helping ourselves. We should be alert and cooperate with the cops who can make Mumbai not only safest place in the country but also in the world," said the 41-year-old actor.
Ajay responsible Mumbaikar
Ajay revealed that he accepted the proposal because he feels it’s his moral duty to help police make their city safer and better than before, and all citizens should take part in this drive.
“I am a Mumbaiite and am proud of it. If the citizens do a little bit to co-operate with the police, Mumbai can become the safest city in the world,” said the actor.
