Danone denies ever approaching Aishwarya for endorsement deal

French Dairy company Danone that operates its independent dairy operations in India, recently, released an official statement, where it declined ever approaching Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan for endorsing any of its products in India.

“This is with reference to the statement issued by Ms Aishwarya Rai’s publicist 'Aishwarya denies endorsing Danone' on 30th August."

Danone quashes this erroneous claim by the publicist which blatantly rebukes the brand Danone. The publicist never approached the brand and such a statement has caused irreparable reputational harm and damage to Danone's business goodwill,” read Danone’s official statement to media.

Recently, Aish’ publicist made it clear that she has no intention to endorse the brand, after several tabloid papers started reporting that she has been approached by world’s no. 1 dairy company with an endorsement deal.

No intention to approach Aish ever
Danone also made it clear that they have no intentions to approach the star even in future for any of its products.

“Danone would like to state and inform all its stakeholders, consumers and patrons that it never approached Ms Aishwarya Rai for any of its brands and has no intentions of doing so going forward,” read the statement.

It seems like the company has taken a defensive stance after Aishwarya’s publicist made harsh remarks in media on the supposed endorsement deal presented to the actress.

What happened
The confusion started when tabloid papers started reporting that Aishwarya has been approached by the world's famous diary product company with an endorsement deal.

As per reports, Danone, which already has a joint venture with Yakult (who’s brand ambassador is Kajol) in India is planning to go solo and wants Aishwarya as the face of their brand.

However, Aish’s publicist squashed the rumors ruthlessly by stating that “media reportage on Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan signed on as the brand ambassador for Danone products is entirely untrue. This kind of vicarious publicity shows unprofessionalism on part of the brand and their agency.”
