Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao to dine with Prince of Wales

Bollywood’s most popular actor Aamir Khan and his filmmaker wife Kiran Rao will soon attend a royal dinner with Prince Charles and Camila Parker Bowles at the Marlborough House in Westminster, London.

Talking about the invitation, Prince Charles, who had watched quite a few of Aamir’s films was thoroughly impressed with the actor and his films that he has officially invited him for cocktails and dinner.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Prince Charles is going to meet an Indian actor. Earlier on his official trip to India in 1980, the Prince had met actress Padmini Kolhapure, which did become quite a scandalous talk at that time when she had kissed him.

Few months ago, the Prince had also met Bollywood’s most popular villain Gulshan Grover. This ‘reel–villainous’ actor still cherishes the moments he had shared with the Prince of Wales in his palace.

Aamir is excited about the invitation
According to insiders, Aamir is honored about the most coveted invitation to dine that he immediately accepted the invitation from the Prince of Wales.

Buzz has it that Aamir will be in London on Sept. 24 for the UK release of his film ‘Peepli Live’.

It’s believed that during his trip he will meet Prince Charles and Camila Parker Bowles for cocktails and dinner being hosted only for a selective gathering.

At present, Aamir is at the Toronto Film Festival for the world premiere of Kiran’s film ‘Dhobi Ghat’ on Sept. 10. This film is believed to have three screenings during the festival, on Sept. 10, 11 and 18.

Aamir attended the special screening of Shammi Kapoor-Asha Parekh's 'Teesri Manzil'
Aamir watched the special screening of Shammi Kapoor-Asha Parekh's classic film ‘Teesri Manzil’ on Saturday evening in Mumbai at the Purani Jeans Film Festival organized by Radio Mirchi.

Aamir had come to watch the film with his wife Kiran Rao, daughter Ira Khan, his sister and his nephew Imran Khan's fiancé Avantika Malik.

The special screening of ‘Teesri Manzil’ also saw the lead actor Shammi Kapoor, actress Asha Parekh and singer Asha bhonsle sharing their experiences while working on the film.

"There was a lot happening during this film, it was a great experience, but I also lost my wife then. So it will always stand out for me," stated yesteryear’s actor Shammi Kapoor.

Aamir, who hasn’t seen this film on big screen, was particularly excited to watch it on full-screen.
