Before becoming a Bollywood biggie, Aishwarya Rai's voice was rejected in an audition for voice...

Critics are disappointed by her performance in newly-released ‘Miral’, which is Freida Pinto’s first movie post ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, a blockbuster that went on to win Oscars.
An adaptation of Italo-Palestinian Rula Jebreal’s book, 'Miral' chronicles the story of Hind Husseini, founder of an orphanage in Jerusalem during the 1948 partition of Palestine and creation of the state of Israel.
Directed by Oscar-nominated director Julian Schnabel, the movie has been nominated for the Golden Lion Trophy in the ongoing Venice Film Festival, , but critics have been quite open about Pinto's bad acting in 'Miral'.
According to the The Telegraph, UK, “The film wears its heart on its sleeve and its awkwardness, too. It’s terribly earnest, and characters often speak dialogue that resembles a history lecture.”
Freida to star opposite Antonia Banderas
Freida Pinto has been cast opposite Spanish actor Antonio Banderas in director Jean-Jacques Annaud’s ‘Black Thirst’.
The actress will play the role of an Arabian princess in the movie that is based on Hans R Ruesch's ‘South of the Heart: A Novel of Modern Arabia’.
Besides, Pinto is currently working on ‘Rise of the Apes’, ‘Immortals’ and ‘You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger'.
Freida Pinto: a big drama queen
Freida Pinto said at an interview recently, "As my friends and family are quick to remind me, I have always been a big drama queen.
As a child, I would stand in front of the mirror and pretend I was this or that person from television. All I needed to do was to realize it and recognize what I wanted to do."
Talking about her dream of becoming an actress since age 11, she said, "It wasn't just the glamor of it all because I think at 11; I could hardly understand what glamor was. I really wanted to be like her, appreciated and a source of inspiration. I think that's what made me go into acting.”
