John Abraham still loves being on the ramp

Model-turn-actor John Abraham while talking to media, recently, after walking the ramp for well-known fashion designer Rohit Bal at the Van Heusen India Men’s Week, revealed that he still loves being on the ramp as much as he used to when he was a full time model.

“Once I am on the runway, I am immersed in the spirit of it and I love the space, the buzzing energy,” said John.

He went on to add the despite being still in love with modeling, he tries not to be on the ramp 24/7 as it’s “an overkill” and have the potential to “dilute your presence.”

Just like in older days, John walked the ramp in Bal’s show with easy grace and aplomb.

Stars in fashion shows steals limelight
When asked if he thinks that the presence of Bollywood celebrities steals the limelight away from models and if it effects them, without shying away from answering the question, John agreed that B-town star’s presence does take away limelight away from models and they do feel resentment over it but cannot do much about it.

“Yes, it’s true that if a star walks the runway, the focus does shifts immediately on him or her,” said John.

He also narrated an incidence from his modeling days.

“I remember when I was a model, during a show; a big star who I wouldn’t name now, was the showstopper. I was very bluntly told by the designer to stay ten steps away from the star. It felt a little odd, but I didn’t take it as an ego issue.”

John turning film producer?
John, who’s actively involved in the ‘Save The Tiger’ campaign, revealed that he is all set to produce a documentary on the subject to spread awareness.

For the documentary, he will be collaborating with documentary filmmaker Mike Pandey.

“The film will take two years to be made. It has to be shot at real locations, with tigers around,” said the actor.
