Apparently, Reddy’s family members are angry over the fact that RGV before scripting his controversial film had met with the family members of slain leader Paritala Ravi and then that of Maddelacheruvu Suri, prime accused in the killing of Ravi.
However, the filmmaker made no attempt to meet the family members of Ravi’s biggest opponent Reddy, to get their side of story.
Advocate N.R.K. Mohan, hired by Obul Reddy’s family, confirmed that a legal notice has been issued but only after all their attempts to talk with the filmmaker failed.
“We got to know through the media that the movie has scenes that are not acceptable to my clients. We contacted him several times but there was no response and hence we sent the legal notice,” said Mohan.
Controversial storyline of ‘Rakta Charitra’
Reportedly, RGV’s upcoming movie ‘Rakta Charitra’s’ is a real life story of a feud between slain TDP MLA Paritala Ravi and Maddelacheruvu Suri, who allegedly killed Ravi.
Both the politicians belonged to Anantapur district. Apart from these two main characters, aforementioned politician Obul Reddy, too was involved in the feud.
Reddy was a strong and influential political figure and was assassinated in Hyderabad along with his father and brother in 1996 under mysterious circumstances.
Now, Reddy’s family members are crying foul as they believe that RGV has shown Reddy as a anti-social element in the film.
People assuming things--RGV
RGV on Sunday evening revealed that he has been threatened by some unknown Reddy supporters with dire consequences, if film showed Reddy in poor light.
“There is no way one gets to know what I am going to portray in the movie. They are threatening to kill me without even watching the movie,” said RGV.
He added, “Forget supporters of Obul Reddy’s family, even if Mr Reddy comes back as a ghost to haunt me, I will not be scared.”
