Amitabh Bachchan, Meryl Streep to play lovers in Balki’s next?
A director known for touching upon sensitive issues, Balki, who has made successful films like ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’, is sporting a huge grin these days. The reason behind it is his forthcoming flick with his favorite star Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.
Big B and Meryl in cross cultural love story
Quite excited about his next venture, Balki stated that the difficulty in approaching an international star is the least of his worries.
However, before working out on approaching the international star, Balki wants to make sure that the script justifies the casting.
Sources inform that incase Meryl turns down the offer to act in his movie, Balki is planning to approach yesteryear's Bollywood actress Sridevi for the role.
However, Amitabh, who hasn’t even given a green signal to act in this flick, is yet to meet Balki to discuss about the film.
Interestingly according to sources, this film will see Amitabh playing the kind of character caught in the tangles of cross cultural love.
Amitabh wants Akshay to play Milkha Singh
According to industry buzz, it is believed that Amitabh has suggested Akshay’s name to filmmaker Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra to play the character of legendary athlete Milkha Singh in the filmmaker’s biopic.
Mehra, who is gearing up for his next project had met Amitabh and Akshay during a play. While discussing about Mehra’s biopic, Amitabh incidentally recommended Akshay for the role of Milka.
Speaking about the film, Big B had written on his blog, "It is a subject that carries immense potential to become a great film. There is history, patriotism, humanity, achievement against odds and a story of incredible pathos and poetic justice."
“As a young kid barely in his teens he saw his entire family hacked to death in front of his eyes during the rioting that took place on the Pakistan side. And all he could see and remember was his dying Father screaming to him .. " bhaag .. bhaag Milkha bhaag"(run..run Milkha run), to escape from being killed by the marauding rioters," further wrote Amitabh.
