Rahman ‘Swagatham’ song was heard and approved by the Group of Ministers (GoM), during a meeting.
Rahman promises a rocking theme song
The ‘Jai Ho’ singer has promised a rocking theme song for the Commonwealth Games just like Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’.
The song ‘Swagatham’ has been composed by A R Rehman, directed by Shyam Bengal and produced by Bharat Bala.
The GoM was chaired by Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy along with few other ministers.
The meeting was held just a day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took control over the proceedings of CWG under him.
Reddy said, "The theme song 'Swagatham' will be the last song of the opening ceremony."
“We discussed the theme song with Shyam Benegal and Bharat Bala, as well as Rehman, and we approved it in principle," stated Reddy.
Rahman on ‘Swagatham’
The song will be available officially within the next ten days as it requires some final touches.
"I presented the theme song before the GoM and it was approved. I have been asked to tweak it and it will be released within next 10 days,” Rahman said while addressing the reporters.
“I think it won't be good to release the theme song without making the necessary changes,” he added.
