TV series 'Khichdi' now made into 'Khichdi-The Movie'

After bringing ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Fox Star Studios is coming up with the on-screen version of TV comedy soap ‘Khichdi’ releasing on Oct. 1.

Conversion of TV series into big screen may not be new for Hollywood, but for the first time in Bollywood, a TV series has been converted to a comedy flick.

Hollywood TV series like ‘Mr Bean’, ‘Batman’, ‘Mission Impossible’, ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Sex and the City’ have already been converted into big screen movies.

"We are very excited about the research feedback from the audiences that have seen Khichadi - The Movie.”- Vijay Singh
‘Khichdi’ is one of the top rated TV comedy soap in its time that will make you laugh till the end. It became more famous because of its versatile characters like Praful and his sweet-innocent wife Hansa, Babuji, Himanshu and super-intelligent Jayshree.

‘Khichdi-The Movie’ has been produced by Jamnadas Majethia of Hats Off Production, and written and directed by Aatish Kapadia.

"We are very excited about the research feedback from the audiences that have seen Khichadi - The Movie.

Audiences loved the clean comedy and found it to be funnier than most recent comedy films...there are very few good clean comedy films that audiences can go and watch with the entire family," said Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios India.

The movie is more hilarious
‘Khichadi-The Movie’ is expected to be more hilarious than the series. In the film, the Parekh family will be seen going on a roller coaster ride where they will encounter various situations creating more humor.

It is will be “Comedy Family Ki Family Comedy”.

The TV series was first aired on Star Plus in 2002. It broke all the TV records with the highest TRP ratings. The series even won maximum number of awards.

Hope Ekta Kapoor does not get inspired from this.
