Apparently, Sanjay heard about the new attempts at the restoration of 'Gangaajal' and urged Jha to re-release the film without item song which portrays his wife Manyata.

Jha has decided to re-release technically enhanced version of 'Gangaajal', starring Ajay Devgan and Gracy Singh. The movie was released in 2003.

It has been heard that Prakash Jha is redoing the color and sound of the film and coming up with the new improvised version of the film.

Talking about the improvements in the movie, Jha confirmed the sources, “It’s true we are re-doing the sound and visuals of 'Gangaajal', along with my other films 'Damul', 'Mrityudand' and 'Apaharan'."

"We are doing the color-correction and converting the sound to high-digital quality for blue-ray videos. We are not deleting anything from 'Gangaajal' or any of the films being restored,” he added.

Speaking on Manyata's item song, Jha asserted, “When she got selected to do the item song she really worked hard on it and made it a memorable number. I remember her as possessing great dignity and a passion to excel. God bless her.”

From Dilnawaz to Manyata
Most of the people are not aware of the fact that Manyata is actually Dilnawaz Shaikh. Manyata shot the song when she was a struggling star.

She flaunted her body in the song and it became very popular. But after getting married to Sanjay, everything changed for her.

She no longer wants to be addressed as an item girl and even does not want the audience to remember the 'Gangaajal' raunchy item number.
