‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ in theatres tomorrow

Produced and distributed under the banner of Balaji Motion Picture ‘Once Upon…’ is a film set in the background of golden era of 70s and it explores the changing face of Mumbai underworld.


The film is directed by Milind Luthria and as per reports has drawn a lot of inspiration from the real life events and characters of 1970s, time when underworld was making its presence felt in the city’s underbelly.

Reportedly, Ajay Devgan’s character in the movie has been inspired from real life don Haji Mastan.

Emraan Hashmi is portraying character based on young Dawood Ibrahim while Kangana Ranaut’s character is based on late actress Madhubala.

Film’s music is composed by Pritam and it has nine songs in total that includes two remixes.

‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ is set in the background 1970s Mumbai that tells the story of rise and fall of big powers in underworld.

Films’ story revolves around rise and fall of gangster Sultan (Ajay Devgan).

The film shows the rise of Sultan and his fall when his young protégé Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi), starts challenging his authority as he himself wants to be the ruler of Mumbai underworld.

Film also shows Sultan aka Mastan’s obsession and love affair with film actress Madhubala, a character enacted by Kangana Ranaut.
