Madhavan refuses '3 Idiots' remake offer


Actor Madhavan, who has received worldwide acclaim for his role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ has refused to work in the South-adaptation of the film.


The buzz is that one of the top filmmakers in the South, Shankar has decided to remake the film in Tamil and Telugu. And so, he decided to rope in Madhavan, a hit South Indian actor.

“So sorry folks! It’s final and confirmed. I am unfortunately unable to do 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. I am really sorry about that. Have other plans. I am sure they will find worthier replacements,” reads Madhavan’s Twitter post.

For all those who thought that the actor refused as he did not want the original to loose its impact, Madhavan refused to work in the film as he has his hands full with many other projects at the moment.

His upcoming project includes Bollywood movies like Abbas Tyrewala’s ‘Jhootha Hee Sahi’, Anand Rai’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Sunglass’ and ‘Freedom’. He will also be making a comeback in Kollywood with Kamal Hassan starrer Manmadhan Ambu.

Madhavan liked working with Kangna Ranaut
The 40-year-old Maddy, confessed that being paired opposite 20-plus actors was challenging for him.

He says, “The actors of today are very beautiful and talented. They are young and their outlook is different. So, I might not match them always.”

Madhavan, who has just got over with the shooting of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ opposite Kangna Ranaut and informs, “Working with Kangna was a great experience. She’s a fabulous actor and a thorough professional.”

Madhavan’s television stint
Madhavan debuted his television career with ‘Sea Hawks’ series in which he played the role of a cadet. Currently, he is playing host to a quiz game show called ‘Big Money — Chota Parda Bada Game’.

“I am interested in these, and don’t have time to do any thing else on television. These shows have a huge viewer following and you get connected with your fans too.The whole family is involved in it, and they try their intelligence and luck together,” he said.

Speaking about his career in Bollywood, the actor modestly replies, “I’m still a newcomer in Bollywood. Every time I do a film, I feel it’s my first movie and I need to do better. Maybe, I feel like this because I am not a trained actor!”
