Shahid, Kareena not a part of 'Forgive and Forget' campaign

Boney Kapoor's much delayed romantic comedy 'Milenge-Milenge' starring ex-flames Shahid and Kareena is due release on July 9, but the estranged duo is uninformed of the Kapoor's gimmick promotional campaign 'Forgive and Forget' since “it is against the stance they have towards each other”, believes the producer.

The movie, which is said to be inspired by the Hollywood romcom 'Serendipity' (2001), is directed by Satish Kaushik, and stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in their fifth film together after Imtiaz Ali's 2007 blockbuster 'Jab We Met' .

Produced and distributed by Boney Kapoor at a budget of Rs.30 crore, other members from the cast include Satish Shah, Aarti Chabaria and Delnaaz Paul.

'Milenge Milenge' makers not willing to bring Shahid- Kareena together
A source close to unit said, “We don’t think Shahid or Kareena will like the idea of this forgive and forget campain. Despite being cordial with each other, they are not on great talking terms."

"Both might not want to see a contest that gives people a scope to discuss their past relationship as it’s a done-with chapter,” said the source.

When contacted, Boney confirmed, “Why should I think about the relationship they share? It’s my film and coming up with ideas to promote it is my idea. To me, they are professionals in my film no matter what relationship I share with them outside work."

"So, it is purely a business decision and we won’t cause an embarrassment to Kareena and Shahid with this. But I do admit that we haven’t told them anything yet about this campaign as both are out of Mumbai. I’m sure they will be a sport,” he added.

Though 'Milenge-Milenge' has been in the making for last six years, director Satish Kaushik believes “the treatment is totally different and it has been very interestingly made.”

"It has been entirely shot in Delhi and Himesh Reshammiya has given fantastic music to it. It will be definitely like by audiences," Kaushik told IANS.

Ambani brothers were Boney's inspiration for the campaign
As a promotional event, Boney Kapoor has rolled out a contest that calls people to forgive their dear ones for what they have done to them in the past and try to come closer again, thereby spreading love.

In order to promote the movie, the makers have also launched a forgiveness index meter and a photo frame with a white rose that people can send to the ones they want to forgive.

In a parallel promotion stunt, the young girls were offering white artificial roses to people at selected multiplexes and malls to gift to anybody they have differences with.

Kapoor also said that the truce between Ambani Brothers inspired him to ideate such a campaign. He adds, “Yes, the news that Anil and Mukesh Ambani have forgiven and forgotten the past and are making an attempt to come closer again just prompted me to design this concept.”
