Supermodel Viveka’s death still a mystery

Former Miss Mauritius, Viveka Babajee’s suicide case has miffed the Mumbai police and they are currently on a look out for important evidences in the case.

Shweta Bhiku Gaikwad, a Parel resident employed as a maid at the late supermodel’s Bandra home, has become important for the case as she was the last person to meet Viveka before she was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her flat on June 25.

Gaikwad said in an interview, “She was normal, like she was every day. She would usually stay in her bedroom while I worked. On June 24, I saw her twice when she came into the kitchen to take food for the cats.”

Talking about June 25, the maid stated, “Like every day, I went to her flat and rang the bell. There was no answer. I called her cell phone but it was switched off. I asked the watchman to intercom her, but the line was disconnected. I left and heard about her death the next day.”

Viveka was out of work, says maid
The maid reported that Viveka was a happy person, and mostly stayed in her bedroom and played with her cats. She also said that the model hardly interacted with the neighbors and never visited friends either.

“I think she was out of work because I never saw her go for work. She always stayed home, playing with her cats in the bedroom,” said Gaikwad, who has been working for the model since the past one month.

Gautam and Viveka were close, claims family
Family members of the supermodel have provided evidence for their claim of a romantic relationship between stockbroker Gautam Vora and Viveka Babajee.

Photographs, emails, chat transcripts and other material obtained from her Facebook and email accounts was produced by the family to substantiate their claims.

They are currently urging Gautam to tell the police the truth about his relationship with Viveka and also about his last meeting with her as they feel that she took the extreme step because of him.

But Gautam denied this and said that their relationship had ended months ago and he was not in touch with the model anymore.

The police have not lodged a complaint by Gautam for abetment charges and are investigating the case further.
