Aish finally says yes to Vishal Bhardwaj

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might not have given a major hit in recent times, but this hasn’t stopped noted directors in Bollywood to offer her greater roles and bigger films.

The latest to woo Aishwarya is director Vishal Bhardwaj for a woman-centric project that is expected to take off in 2011.

Earlier, both had shown interest to work with each other, but things never fell into place due to dates or script. Now, for the first time they will come together as a team.

Aishwarya agrees after years of refusal
Vishal Bharadwaj wanted to collaborate with Aishwarya in a number of projects. Years ago, she was supposed to do his first directorial venture 'Timbucktoo’.

This year too Aishwarya was approached for ‘Saat Khoon Maaf' and she initially liked the script. But due to her hectic schedule and having other five films releasing this year, the actress backed off .Vishal couldn't wait and the film eventually went to Priyanka Chopra.

As per the rumours, Vishal was hurt by Aish's constant refusals, but the actress repeatedly told her friends that she would love to work with him, if the dates permitted her to do so.

Now, at a juncture in her career where Aishwarya wants to portray unconventional roles, the actress is finally set to work with the director on the project, a contemporary romantic subject with an unusual climax.

Confirming this, Aishwarya said, "Yes, Vishal and I have been meaning to work together for quite some time. Things are working out now. He feels I've been saying no far too often, but it wasn't my fault.”

Other projects lined up for Aishwarya
Apart from ‘Ravaan’, which already sunk at the box office, Aishwarya has three more films lined up for release this year.

She will be seen in her bilingual sci-fi film ’Endhiran’, starring southern star Rajnikanth, which is being made at a whooping cost of Rs.125 crore. She will then join Akshay Kumar in Vipul Shah’s next ’Action Replay’, a time-travel tale of the 1950s.

Aishwarya will end the year with Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ’Guzaarish’ for which Aishwarya is currently shooting along with Hrithik Roshan in Mumbai.
