Mauritius-born-Indian model, Viveka, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her Bandra residence.

She even broke everything she could at her place and left the gas open. The odour was noticed by the neighbours and they finally called the police when there was no reply from her in the house.

Before committing suicide, Viveka had a talk with her mother in Mauritius and said, “I am going away.”

Her friends, who were in deep shock after Viveka's suicide, claimed her break-up with Gautam to be the reason for her committing suicide.

Others said that her event management company, Vibgyor Entertainment, was not doing well in the market. Viveka was also a depression patient and took sleeping pills very often.

Fight with boy-friend led to suicide
While investigating the case, the police were told by Viveka’s neighbours that Gautam used to come to meet Viveka at her flat. Both were quite happy with each other.

But on Thursday, the couple had a loud fight. "There was a lot of noise, and they were obviously fighting over a personal issue," said a resident of the building.

The neighbours even heard Viveka blaming Gautam to be responsible if anything happened to her. It is believed that few hours later when Gautam left, the Indian model committed suicide.

Though no suicide was recovered from her place, many letters addressing Gautam were found.

On Saturday, the autopsy report from Cooper Hospital unveiled that she had committed suicide.

Similar suicide case of Nafisa Joseph
Nafisa Joseph, a Bangalore based ex-model and MTV video jockey, had committed suicide on July 29, 2004 in the same way Viveka did.

Nafisa was a winner of Miss India Universe in 1997 and a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe pageant.

She hanged herself from the ceiling fan at the age of 25, when she came to know that her fiancé Gautam Khanduja, who claimed to be a divorcee, was still married.
