Shakira to belt out Bollywood cabaret song

After setting the screen afire by performing for the catchy song ‘Waka Waka’, the Colombian pop star Shakira will soon be belting out a Bollywood song.


Shakira, who is known to be one of the highest selling female artist, has been penciled-in by a filmmaker for a peppy Bollywood number.

This is the second time the pop star will be make a trip to India. She had earlier performed live in Mumbai in 2007. The multi-talented pop star has shown keen interest to sing a Hindi melody.

Moreover, the music track will be composed by none other than the interesting duo Salim- Sulaiman. The lyrics of the song will be in English with few words in Hindi.

The music duo is also planning to get her coached in Hindi as they feel that Shakira can easily adopt the Indian melodies.

Shakira’s Bollywood song will have influences of Latin
It is rumored that the song will be in a smooth and distinctive cabaret style with the musical types of Latin Jazz music.

Besides, the different dancing styles will be performed by the South African model Candice Boucher.

The recording of the song is slated to happen amid of next month.

Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’ is the most viewed clip
Shakira’s popularity is soaring each day. Her latest official FIFA World Cup song ‘Waka Waka' (This Time for Africa) has become the most viewed music video clip, with 15 million views, on YouTube.

This song has acquired the top slot on the charts in 15 countries. Moreover, in Mexico, the song has been on the top for more than five consecutive weeks.

Shakira will not strip naked for photo shoot
Recently, the 33-year-old Colombian pop star politely declared that she will never go completely naked for a photo shoot because of her catholic upbringing.

In a recent interview with Tagesspiegel, Shakira said, "I don't want to and I don't have to. I couldn't strip naked. Maybe when I'm 40 I will change my mind.”
