Storyline of 'Raavan'
The film starts with Dev falling in love with a classical dancer Ragini and after a brief courtship, they tied the knot. Shortly, after marriage Dev takes up new post in a small town in northern India called Lal Maati.
Apparently in Lal Maati, police has no jurisdiction and a tribal leader Beera is the word of law. However, Dev is hell bent on bringing change in Lal Maati and knows that it will be possible only when Beera is stripped of his power in the region.
On one fateful day, Beera and Dev got engaged in a battle where Beera got injured and runs to take shelter in a dense dark forest. Interestingly, Beera abducts Dev’s wife Ragini, before taking refuge in the jungle, and Dev follows them.
'Raavan' in Mani Ratnam’s words
“It is a story of emotions that is scary and confusing. It is a battle between the good and the evil. When the line blurs, whose side would you take? When hate turns to love and when the good looks evil, whose side would appeal right? Love is a battle in which nobody wins but everyone should participate.”
