Vivek lashes out at tabloids for suggesting Salman snubbed him at IIFA

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi on Friday lashed out at tabloids for reporting that Salman Khan has yet again snubbed his attempts at reconciliation at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Sri Lanka.

When reporters asked him to comment on his recent failed attempt, Vivek annoyingly said, "Who told you this?"

Vivek went on to add that media should concentrate more on all good stuff happening at the event rather than fabricating news.

"Even when I will be a 70-year-old man, you will ask me such questions that have nothing to do with me or you will create situations to write about it," Vivek added further.

The clash between the two actors started in 2003 when Vivek called press conference and accused Salman of threatening him with dire consequences if he continued dating Aishwarya Rai.

Origin of the news
The tabloids got fodder for creating this news when Vivek and Salman came face-to-face at IIFA’s charity initiative on Thursday.

Vivek was anchoring the fashion event and had the golden opportunity to introduce Salman Khan on stage.

Salman, who has been appointed brand ambassador for 2010 IIFA Awards charity initiative, was supposed to walk on the ramp along with the cast of his forthcoming movie 'Dabaang'.

However, after finding out that Vivek will be anchoring, Salman flatly refused to be introduced by him.

At the last moment, organizers got Anil Kapoor to introduce Salman onstage and Vivek lost yet another chance to patch-up with Salman.

Later at a press conference, without admitting anything, Vivek brushed aside the whole issue by saying, "'Aap log kyun itni chhoti si baat ka itna bada issue bana rahein ho?' (Why are you making fuss about such a small incident)".

Vivek’s flattering introductory note for Salman
Reportedly, Vivek was so excited for getting the opportunity to share stage with Salman that he had prepared a flattering introductory note to please Khan.

In his introductory note, Vivek had used words like “rockstar of Bollywood” and “man with the golden heart".

However, “rockstar of Bollywood” did not give him chance to say it all.
