On this event, Ausaja honored the 67-year-old actor by rare two sheeter poster from the latter's movie 'Deewar'.
Breathtaking 'Bollywood in Posters'
The 200 posters collection 'Bollywood in Posters' were collected by Ausaja in the stretch of last 80 years. Starting from the initial collection of 5000 posters of hindi movies, the book was compiled after short-listing 200 posters.
Ausaja had started collecting posters of Bachchan's films 20 years ago. 'Kaalia' was the first movie when Ausaja’s collection of posters of Amitabh's movies began.
Apart from posters, the book also includes credits, popular songs and interesting anecdotes of the respective films.
The oldest film poster in the book was Ardeshir Irani's 'Alam Ara,' the first Indian talkie film released in 1931.
Published by Om books International, the event was also graced by the presence of one of the leading fashion photographers of India, Gautam Rajadhyaksha.
Bollywood celebrity Amitabh Bachchan delighted by book’s release
As quoted by Oneindia, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I’m delighted to be here at the release of the book, which I feel is an important document and element for posterity. And I’m grateful that someone has taken interest in preserving the history of Hindi Cinema.
“I have been with Ausaja since he was a journalist and I’m happy to be here and be a part of the occasion.”
“The only thing I don’t like about the book is the title but that’s a different story altogether,” he added.
Mr. Bachchan preferred the title to be Hindi Cinema instead of Bollywood.
“I’m so humbled at the extent of support Mr. Bachchan has given to me,” S.M.M. Ausaja told Oneindia.
