As per Nasim, the much-hyped film is based on the life of Gandhi family and is an attempt to defame them, especially Sonia Gandhi.
“When the movie is supposed to be based on Sonia Gandhi’s life, the director should have been overly careful and not maligned her character by showing intimate scenes in the film,” said the self proclaimed social worker in an interview.
Meanwhile, court adjourned the hearing on the plea till June 10. As per court, the film is yet to be cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification, and till then it’s tough to say if the film actually has objectionable scenes.
Plea’s primary target Katrina and her character in “Raajneeti”?
In the plea, petitioner Nasim has primarily targeted Katrina’s role which he says is based on Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Katrina’s "body language which cannot be tolerated as she has been involved herself in objectionable roles in the past.”
Industry insiders maintain that this petition could be the result of Katrina’s recent remark in an interview where she had said that she took inspiration from the Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi to portray her role in the movie ‘Raajneeti.’
"I think what she (Sonia) has achieved is incredible. It is a great inspiration, “said Katrina in an interview to promote the film.
Prakash Jha’s political drama “Raajneeti” features Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, and Manoj Bajpai and is scheduled to be release on June 4 nationwide.
No character in the film based on Indian politicians--Jha
Filmmaker Prakash Jha in his recent interview denied all the reports suggesting that film is based on the life of Gandhi family. He made it clear that none of the characters in his film is based on any of the real life politicians.
"None of my characters are drawn from any living or past politician of the country, they are characters from the Mahabharata," said Jha.
