Both stars have been, reportedly, roped in by Shekhar Kapoor for his next venture “Paani”--a modern day version of Shakespeare’s classic love story ‘Romeo and Juliet.’

“Paani” will be made in English and will be set in the background of Mumbai in which Hrithik plays the role of a rebel from lower strata of the society.

Hrithik’s character wants to be rich and to achieve his goal is looking for an unsuspecting rich girl, who he could seduce. He meets with a beautiful and wealthy girl (Kristen) and their love story begins.

Shekhar considering Hrithik only after speculations
Interestingly, Shekhar started considering signing Hrithik for the film only after several media reports speculated that he will play the lead in “Paani.”

“Shekhar hadn’t even thought of Hrithik until he read these reports. Then he spoke to Hrithik, they met, and finalized the project,” said a source.

However, when Shekhar was asked if Hrithik and Kristen have been finalized for the film, the director refused to comment.

“I can’t speak of the cast on record until everything is in place. Too many times I’ve been accused of talking about projects that never happen. But Paani is a film that I’m definitely making, and this year,” said the talented director.

Kristen has agreed to do “Paani”?
As per sources, Shekhar had certain traits in his mind for the leading lady of “Paani” and Kristen fitted the bill perfectly, so he decided to approach the actress.

“Shekhar decided to directly ask Kristen. And he did. She was very responsive and has agreed to be part of the film, provided all the terms and conditions fall into place,” revealed a source.

Reportedly, Kristen Stewart has seen Shekhar’s previous work and is said to be his fan.
