Darling will be Prabhas’s major release since Varsham and Chatrapati. His fans who have waited so long make Darling the most sought after film at box office.
Darling: simple yet heartwarming tale
Directed by A. Karunakaran, Darling stars Prabhas and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles while Tamil actor Prabhu plays a key role.
Prabhas, known for his action roles, returns as romantic hero, while Kajal, who gained a lot of accolades for her performance in Magadheera, plays his love interest.
The screenplay takes the logical and expected route. Prabhas a fun loving youth, has just finished his graduation when one of his female college mates proposes to him. But Prabhas is not interested and makes no bones about it.
The spurned girl dashes home and attempts suicide. Her doting father, a powerful don is unable to digest this. So Prabhas is served an ultimatum. He should either marry the girl or face death.
But Prabhas is already in love and the girl is in Switzerland. Soon the scene shifts to Switzerland where the rest of the story unfolds.
The director’s attempt has been to tell a youth centric, simple heartwarming story. With a plot that has been attempted numerous times Karunakaran brings forth freshness with certain twists that the film takes at regular intervals.
Prabhas is refreshingly different in this film. No flexing of muscles and no heavy dialogues. He appears down to earth and is quite endearing too. Kajal looks nice and charming.
Promise of family entertainment, with music and comedy
