Tum Milo Toh Sahi -– a spell of realism

A realistic take on relationships ‘Tum Milo Toh Sahi’ features Dimple Kapadia who runs a café called ‘Lucky Café’, which becomes a favorite place for some Mumbaikars. Interestingly, few of them even help her save the café from corporate villains who want to seize the spot.

Directed by Kabir Sadanand, ‘Tum Milo Toh Sahi’ stars Dimple Kapadia, Nana Patekar, Suniel Shetty, Vidya Malvade, Anjana Sukhani and Rehan Khan.

Story-line
Quite a few reasons can be quoted for the hype and hoopla surrounding ‘Tum Milo Toh Sahi’, as it has the interesting pairing of Dimple and Nana Patekar.

The story revolves around three couples, Dimple Kapadia-Nana Patekar, Suniel Shetty-Vidya Malvade and Anjana Sukhani-Rehan Khan.

Dimple portrays the character of Delshad, an enthusiastic and kind-hearted Parsi woman, while Nana plays the character of Subramanium, a Tamilian.

Vidya plays the character of Anita, who is a friend of Delshad, and her husband Amit is played by Suniel Shetty. Amit works in a corporate figure and Anita is a professor. The couple, who have a son, struggle to make both ends meet after having bought a four-bedroom flat.

Bikramjeet and Shalini, played by Rehan Khan and Anjana Sukhani, are college-going youngsters sporting fashionable clothes. Bikramjeet meets Shalini in Mumbai before joining the army. While the first meeting of Delshad and Subbu happens at a shopping mall where they fight, they later gradually turn out to become good friends.

Subramanium, played by Nana, is a retired pessimist who keeps mourning the death of his mom. Delshad, who sees Nana playing a violin in his dead mother’s room, tries changing his behavior gradually.

Interestingly, this warm friendship turns out to be good, as Subramanium helps save her Lucky Café from a multi-national company called Bluebell that wants to buy it.

Bottom-line
‘Tum Milo Toh Sahi’ is a realistic show that is serious and gripping. A breezy and edgy film, it brings an instant spell of connection among Mumbaikars, as it relates to their lives.

The only highlight of the film is the two characters Delshad and Subramanium. While Dimple brings the script alive with her touching honesty, Nana scores with his comedy.
