Katrina Kaif became the first Indian face to symbolize Barbie doll and walk the ramp attiring...

Director Omprakash decided to make a heart-warming story that will be unique and inspiring for the youth. And what can be more inspiring than the story of Milkha Singh that can drive anyone to strive for greater things and come out victorious.
The life of Milkha Singh will now be captured on celluloid by Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has decided to make a movie on India's greatest track athlete.
Mehra has tentatively titled the film ‘Bhag, Milkha, Bhag’ (Run, Milkha, Run).
The flying Sikh’s tremendous professional success
The story of this great hero, who achieved tremendous professional success through struggle and determination, will soon be turned into a stirring film that would motivate the youth of the country to shine in sports.
Milkha Singh, also fondly known as the ‘Flying Sikh’, had won the Asian Games 400 metres championship twice and was also the champion at the 1958 Commonwealth games. Although he unfortunately missed to make a mark at his second Olympics in Tokyo in the year 1960, he sure did create quite a flurry there.
Though many young Indian runners have always dreamt to make a mark like Milkha Singh did, India has never had a champion like him again. Even today, after so many years, there has been no one who could better his feats.
However, in a recent interview responding to the question about whether India will make any records on the track, Milkha Singh responded, “This is the year of the Commonwealth Games, I feel sad to say that 52 years after I won a gold in the Cardiff Games, India hasn't been able to win a gold in track events.”
The man, who achieved great successes, had always worked hard to accomplish all his great feats in this sport.
As he stated, “I trained so hard that my sweat would fill a bucket. I was on the deathbed several times because of my training. But I overcame everything because of my love for my country. The army, too, played a major role in my achievements.”
Rakeysh Omprakash gets a story for a rupee
Born in Lyallpur (now in Pakistan) in 1935, Milkha Singh was all of twelve when he watched his parents being butchered during the partition. Having escaped to India as a refugee, he had accomplished great feats, which will now be captured on celluloid.
Milkha Singh who had sold his story to director Rakeysh Omprakash for just one rupee hopes that his story will prove to be uplifting and inspiring for the youth.
Responding to the question about this movie, Rakeysh Omprakash stated, “I want Indian youth to understand what determination and purpose can achieve.”
He also added, “If a Milkha, who didn't have access to even basic necessities of life, can aim for the skies, why not others who've been provided the best of facilities?”
