Ranbir and Katrina’s Rajneeti

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will be seen together again soon in Prakash Jha’s political saga ‘Rajneeti’ which is scheduled to release in May this year.

While Katrina Kaif will don a de-glamourized look for the film, this will also be the first time that Ranbir Kapoor will play a serious character.

The cast of the film also includes Arjun Rampal and veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpai, Nana Patekar and Ajay Devgan.

Director Prakash Jha says, “We certainly don’t want to pitch Raajneeti as a dry political drama. Ranbir and Katrina are big commercial stars. We want their fans to see our film as an entertainer.”

“At an edited length of about 3 hours’ playing-time we want viewers to be glued to the edge of their seats. I wouldn’t call it a multi- star cast film .I’d call it a multi-actor film,” he furthers.

Ranbir and Katrina eye the national award
Both the stars have dedicated themselves full on to the film as both see the movie as a passport to winning the national award.

Ranbir Kapoor who has just returned from Las Vegas immediately rushed for a shoot of a promotional video, a part of which will be shown in the film that features Ranbir, Katrina and Arjun.

Prakash Jha informs, “We did some patchwork shooting on Monday, close-ups, etc. Yes. It’s for the betterment of the end-product. We all want Rajneeti to be a big success. Katrina and Ranbir have surrendered themselves completely to the project and will do whatever is required.”

Katrina has even hired a Hindi tutor who has polished her Hindi and all the dialogues in the movie have been dubbed in Katrina’s voice.

“After Raajneeti no one would ever accuse of Katrina not knowing Hindi,” says Jha.

Vande Mataram remixed for Rajneeti
Prakash Jha was recently in Prague where he got India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’ recorded by Wane Sharp.

A source adds, “Prakash is anxious about the public reaction to the English words being used in the patriotic song which will be used in certain dramatic scenes, especially during the films' climax.”

We hope the move does not stir a controversy for the film!!
