Rahul Mahajan's passport released by court

According to latest tabloids reports, a city court on Tuesday provided relief to the newly wedded couple Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly-Mahajan, by releasing Rahul’s passport till the end of this month.

Rahul and Dimpy who got married on a reality TV show last week, wanted to visit Maldives for their honeymoon from Mar. 9 to Mar. 31, and had submitted application for the release of Mahajan’s passport on Feb. 16.

The court decided to release Mahajan’s passport amid strong opposition from the prosecutions side.

Rahul has been asked to submit a fixed amount worth Rs 5 lakh as a guarantee in the court for the same.

Restrictions imposed by judge
Apart from asking for a fixed guarantee sum for releasing Rahul’s passport, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) P.S. Malik has also imposed few conditions on the newlywed couple’s trip to Maldives.

The judge made it clear that Rahul and Dimpy’s Maldives trip should not be an “extension of show” because of which they got married.

ASJ Malik also directed the newlyweds to make sure that there is no shooting involved on their Maldives trip for commercial purposes.

If any of these conditions will be violated by Rahul, then it will lead to forfeiture of their submitted guarantee amount in the court.

The court also asked Rahul to submit an affidavit stating that the marriage “contracted on March 6 is a bona fide act and not for the purpose of the show” and that now “Rahul Mahajan and Somashree (Dimpy) Ganguly are husband and wife.”

Rahul will also provide the court with assurance that his marriage will be registered within two months from now. He would show the registration in the court within a week after registering the marriage.

Rahul happy with court’s decision
Rahul, 35, who was present throughout the court proceedings on Tuesday sans his bride Dimpy, looked happy and relieved after judge’s decision.

“I am very happy with the outcome. I just want to pack my bags and leave,” said the joyous Rahul to the media waiting outside.
