Vivek Oberoi walks the ramp for designer Digvijay Singh

Bollywood heartthrob Vivek Oberoi walked the ramp on Saturday at the Lakme Fashion Week 2010 for the ace fashion designer Digvijay Singh, who showcased his 100 percent organic cotton and silk fabric-styled collection.

Vivek walked down the ramp with style in a beige dhoti-kurta with an electrifying smile on his face throughout the show.

“I am so much happy these days. Naturally, I spread the smile smiling. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face. And mine is a natural smile, not a practiced one,” quipped Vivek.

On a serious note, Vivek talked about walking the ramp for Digvijay Singh’s eco-friendly line: “I believe in organic and eco-friendly products. That’s the reason even my NGO uses recycled paper bags and stuff alike. So my ideologies went with that of Digvijay Singh’s Bhusattva. The bandgalla kurta and beige dhoti made me feel like a Prince.”

Vivek worried about suffering wardrobe malfunction
Vivek Oberoi mesmerized everyone sitting in the audience by sashaying down the ramp with élan but admitted that he was scared of having a wardrobe malfunction.

“I didn’t just have butterflies in my stomach but also elephants and jumbos running helter-skelter,” confessed Vivek while talking to media later.

“I had heard so much about wardrobe malfunction that I had this constant fear of what if my chappal goes off, what if my nada (pajama string) gives away. Thankfully everything went quite fine.”

Vivek has walked down the ramp before this with his fellow actor Sunil Shetty before the launch of their film “Mission Istanbul” in Lycra Images Fashion Awards in 2008.

Vivek’s mother and sister attended the show to cheer for him.

Vivek celebrated Holi with Devi
This year Vivek spent his Holi in Vrindavan with the girls from Devi initiative program. Devi initiative was started by his mother’s Yashodara Oberoi Foundation.

The foundation works particularly towards providing little girls with a chance at education, nutrition, and better health care facilities.

Vivek, like his mother, is seriously committed to the initiative and hopes to build a safe home for abandoned children one day.
