Teen Patti, a movie based on the theme of gambling, looks like a promising yet conspiring thriller.

Leena Yadav’s Teen Patti features Amitabh Bachchan, veteran Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley, R Madhavan and Saira Mohan in major roles.

Nevertheless, the film’s star attraction is Amitabh sharing the screen with Ben Kingsley.

The movie’s plot
The movie’s storyline revolves around a mathematician is named Venkat Subramanium (Amitabh Bachchan) who tries to establish a high end mathematical theory based on the game of Teen Patti.

He also tries to train his five brightest students played by Madhavan and newcomers Siddharth Kher, Druv Ganesh, Vaibhav Talwar and Shraddha Kapoor in high-stake gambling.

Hard work for the sets of the movie
The production designer of the movie Ayesha Punvani said that they actually tried to enter real gambling dens in Mumbai. However, it was quite impossible being a woman.

In addition, building up sets and finding locations was a Herculean task.

"It was the craziest idea to create gambling dens in 'Teen Patti' since the gambling addas (dens) that exist in real are very hard to approach, gambling being illegal in India.

“You will never be allowed to just walk in casually. You will have to go through some contact and with all of us being women, it was tougher," Punvani told IANS in an interview.

So they targeted abandoned dockyard, train yards, factories, and mills etc, which were shutdown to provide some real backdrops.

Post-production haste
Director Leena Yadav is quite nervous and very careful with every detail of the movie. Sources close to the production team said that she did not accept the work by Indian editor Kaushik Das.

As she wants nothing lesser than the best, she roped in the Oscar winner editor Hughes Winborne to re-edit Teen Patti.

The Hollywood editor has been appreciated for his work in movies like The Pursuit Of Happiness, Seven Pounds and Crash.
