MS Sathyu believes that maybe current cine actors and their work is called as great pieces to praise. However, that is not the case with him. Sathyu did not correlate with the current fashion of the reigning heroes in the movie business. He said that rather than sticking to the factual practicality and actual details, the movies of Shahrukh and Aamir Khan are dreams woven to persuade viewers with wrong facts.

MS Sathyu, on Sunday was in Patna to be a part of the concluding fest of cine and theatre fest.

Everything was organized by organized by cultural group Natya Mandapam with support from Delhi-based organisation ‘Aman’.

An art-film champion
Sathyu feels that although art films are little weaker than the mainstream films and don’t pull much of audience, they don’t reflect illusive facts and content wise show real colors of life.

“Actors like Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are popular and their films are also entertaining, but the content of their films are alienated from the life and reality of common man,” he said.

“Art films have limited audience, but their content is realistic and show truths of life. They also don’t bring monetary returns. Cinema is a powerful medium. Today it is influencing society the most, but the power of this medium is not being fully utilized.

Instead, cinema is being made in a manufactory and served as a commercially viable dish having all the palatable ingredients! The mainstream cinema is being made only for money,” he said.

Being critical about the modern historic movies made, he seemed discouraged by them.

“Making of historical films has increased. A few good films have definitely been made, but they failed to gain audience,”Sathyu said.

He also added, ““Such films require in-depth research, which is difficult, but it is not being done, even though this is what is required. Cinema cannot change history, but it should have history.”
