Vishal had told Priyanka about the movie while her doing Kaminey.

In the movie titled ‘Ek Batta Saat’, the former Miss World is to romance with her seven husbands. Priyanka as the protagonist would play a major leading role.

The director’s casting
Earlier Vishal had proposed Priyanka to play seven different roles in the flick too. However, since that is not the case the director is delving deeper for zeroing on for the seven deadly husbands!

"Vishal wanted each of the husbands to look as different as possible, and each actor had to be different in terms of height, weight, body structure, skin tone, and personality. The script of the film is quite unconventional," said a source close to the director.

Till now he has signed faces like South’s superstar Mohanlal, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi. However, now, each actor will be uniquely different from each other.

Rumors have it that the fifth husband-to-be is signed as Irrfan.

Vishal is also to pencil on a foreigner’s name as one of the cine yet luckless husbands.

"During his visit to the US, Vishal was trying to zero in on a foreigner to play Priyanka's husband," added the source.

Storyline sourced
'Ek Batta’s Saat'’s story is all inspired from India’s iconic literary writer Ruskin Bond’s Seven.

Rusty’ actually penned down this story for Vishal when he expressed his inclination towards turning its script into a movie. In an interview, Ruskin gave some details about the story which sounded pretty amazing.

“Vishal asked me if I could do another story for him and I saw no reason why I wouldn’t. He liked a four-page short story of mine, Susanna’s Seven Husbands. I expanded it into a 200-page episodic piece that can be filmed.

My protagonist is a femme fatale who bumps off her seven husbands… I had to find ingenious ways of bumping seven people off while writing the story. Not something that I am used to contemplating generally,” he said.

On Priyanka Chopra he added, “I haven’t actually seen her films. She gives a lot of interviews on TV so I have seen her occasionally. My protagonist comes from an Anglo-Indian background, she is a beautiful lady, but reserved.

She isn’t very glamorous like Ms Chopra and doesn’t try to charm men in obvious ways. I hope Vishal will keep that in his characterization. She is very smart too. She even gives an old husband of hers an overdose of Viagra in my story, who of course can’t take it. No, no, I can’t give out anymore of the story. My only regret will be, I couldn’t be cast as one of Ms Chopra’s seven husbands. Guess I am too old for that (laughs).”
