Dimple helps cure Akshay’s sprain

Mumbai, February 7 -- It has been a difficult time for Akshay Kumar who has become quite prone to accidents these days. It was only recently while shooting at the sets of ‘Patiala House’ that he badly injured his back.

And now a couple of days ago while shooting for a scene at the Film City for his upcoming film ‘Action Replay’ the star sustained grievous injury to his ankle.

Dimple comes to his rescue
Akshay’s pain was, however, reasonably alleviated by his mom-in-law Dimple Kapadia, who happened to be shooting at the same location for ‘Patialia House.’

As to how exactly he hurt himself, one source informed, “We were shooting at Film City for a song when Akshay sprained his ankle. The dance step was difficult and he hurt himself badly while practising it. The shooting schedule was put on hold for some time.”

Sources revealed that as soon as Dimple heard about her son-in-law’s injury she immediately rushed to check on him. Fussing over him, she seemed worried as it was obvious that it was hurting him even if he tried to move his leg a little bit.

Sources also added that, “She immediately asked for a painkiller and instructed Akshay’s make-up man, Narendra dada to do a time-tested desi ilaaj (home remedy) of twisting and massaging Akshay’s foot in a particular manner for quick relief.

“She also insisted that Akshay visit a doctor immediately. As much as Akshay loved being looked after by Dimple, he was unperturbed by the minor sprain.”

On the brighter side, Dimple didn’t leave his side until he felt better to resume his shoot.

However producer-director Vipul Shah, who didn’t comment about Dimple Kapadia’s visit on the sets, did confirm that “Yes, Akshay sprained his ankle while we were shooting for our promotional song. He was absolutely fine after a bit of physiotherapy and medication and we resumed shooting.”
