Riteish:an investigative journalist
‘Rann’ is mainly based on media, and asserts to draw out the minutiae of the field. In the film Riteish plays the role of an investigative journalist.

When asked about the character the actor only said, “My role is of an extremely righteous guy. He is someone who thinks that life is in black and white and if he thinks he is right he will go to any extent to prove his point."

Riteish Deshmukh went in for a change in genres, because he felt that whenever people look at him, they always think he wants to make them laugh.

He recently stated to this fact, “Because I have been attached to comic films, most of them feel that I will come on screen and make some funny faces."

“The knowledge Ram Gopal Varma has about the subject and direction is extraordinary. He was very clear about what he wanted to show and the projection of the incidents, so once we were briefed, our roles were very comprehensible to portray.

Since I play a very intense role who is inherently a strong and serious person I had to be quite responsible other than trimming my hair and growing a beard.”

Riteish promotes ‘Rann’ in Pune
Last weekend Riteish drove down to Pune to promote Rann. The actor who even tweeted about his love for the city interacted with his fans there and also shared some tidbits about the film, and the city.

The movie, slated to release at the end of this month, also stars Amitabh Bachchan.
