Mumbai, January 10 -- The Nokia 16th Annual Star Screen Awards, which took place late Saturday evening, saw the best of Bollywood.

The star-studded event was held at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) grounds and was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, R Madhavan, and Omi Vaidya.

An event that was held to honor excellence in cinema witnessed the statute for the best actor being bagged by Amitabh Bachchan for his portrayal of a 13-year-old progeria-affected child in Paa, while actress Vidya Balan won the best actress award for her fine performance as Amitabh’s mother in the same film.

Arundati Nag and Pratik won the best supporting actress and best child actor award respectively for the film Paa.

3 Idiots team dominated the event with 8 awards
3 Idiots stole the show with Best Film, Director, Comedian, Debutante, Villain, Choreography, Screenplay, Dialogues.

The award for the best screenplay was presented to Abhijat Joshi for "3 Idiots". And for breaking all records at the box office, 3 Idiots grabbed the award for best film.

Director Rajkumar Hirani collected his award for the best director.

Omni Vaidha earned Best Comedian and Best Debutant award and Boman Irani was given the Best actor in a negative role for same film.

A R Rahman and Javed Akhtar honored
AR Rahman took his award for Best Music Director for the film 'Delhi-6', and lyrist Javed Akhtar was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the function.

Kavita Sethi took the best female singer award for "Ek Tara” in the movie "Wake Up Sid." The best playback singer Male was given to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for "Aaj din chadeya" from "Love Aaj Kal.”

Love Aaj Kal wins the best story award
Imitiaz Ali scooped the trophy for the best story for his 2009 film "Love Aaj Kal.”

Popular Awards went to Kareena and Shahid. Katrina Kaif was designated the best entertainer of the year.

Actor Salman Khan, Bipasha Basu and Shahid Kapoor performed for the most popular dance numbers.

The Auro dance was performed together on stage by Amitabh, Abhishek, Shah Rukh and Shahid.
