Mumbai, November 30 -- It was a moment of joy for the superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his entire family, when they took to the plinth to recite lines from Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem ‘Madhushala’.

The book was successfully launched last week in a brand new form, in honor of the 102nd birth anniversary of Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

This new edition contains the original set of poems, which was first published in 1933-34. The newly designed book has an artful conception with an illustration of paintings done by Amitabh’s niece Namrita Bachchan, daughter of Ajitabh Bachchan.

The authentic original poems also include an English translation. During the launch, actor Abhishek Bachchan said, “The book was not a revised version of the original, but a translation. It's wonderful that my cousin Namrita has illustrated the 'Madhushala' and it's wonderful to get the third generation of Bachchans to contribute."

Amitabh Bachchan was happy to reveal that the reinvention of the book was his wife Jaya’s suggestion. He conveyed that "It was Jaya's idea that if the book is compiled in a way where one page has the original poems and in the corresponding page the translation of the same, then this generation would love to read it."

Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan, talking to the press persons, added that "This is the reproduction of the book 'The House of Wine', which was formerly written by Marjourie Bolton on the works of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchhan."

Some translations have also been done by Ram Swaroop Vyas.

Actors Om Puri, Rahul Bose, screenwriter Prasoon Joshi Kokilaben, Tina Ambani, Munira, Nana Chudasama, Sachin Khedekar and Bikram Saluja with wife Schauna also turned up on the occasion to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late legendary poet.
