In 'Gangster', the role of Daya Shankar, inspired from the life of Abu Salem, was initially...

When asked about her backless shot that is being used for the publicity posters of ‘Kurbaan', Kareena Kapoor quickly said there is nothing vulgar about it, “It subtly reveals a lot about the story.”
She is quick to add, “There is love, passion and violence - all combined in here and what better way than to show it through a single still? You too would agree that there is nothing sleazy or vulgar about it. Knowing the sensibilities of Karan Johar (producer) and Rensil D'Silva (director), that's the least one could have expected.”
Kareena also said that after Geet in 'Jab We Met', her character of Avantika in 'Kurbaan' will make people sit up and take notice.
In the movie Kareena plays a professor who falls in love and gets married to her colleague Saif Ali Khan, After marriage they shift to New York and there she gets entangled in a series of events and realizes that she’s caught in an eddy of danger and conspiracy.
Every character in the movie has few layers to it and the character that she plays is exceptional and the pivotal part of the plot, Kareena said.
She also added that, “Actually if you ask me, then technically 'Kurbaan' is the story of this girl. She is the light of the screen. I am sure people will cry with Avantika...so strong is her characterization.”
According to Kareena Kapoor it’s not a movie with romance and drama but a deep rooted love story that portrays moderate Islam. Admirable and understated in her performance, the actress is all set to enthrall audiences with a hard-hitting portrayal once again.
Let’s hope things look up not only for Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan but also for the other actors: Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri, Kirron Kher and Dia Mirza.
Kurbaan is slated to release on November 20th.
