Chandigarh, August 7: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor was in city beautiful to promote his soon-to-be released movie, ‘Kaminey’ opposite Priyanka Chopra.

Dressed in a blue-checkered shirt and cropped hair, Shahid got chatty with the fans about his movie in Hotel Mountview on Saturday afternoon. Excerpts from that chit-chat with fans:

How was your experience with director Vishal Bhardwaj?
Vishal is a very dangerous director to work with. He takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you work differently. Whatever role the actor might have done before, Vishal will create a completely different role for us. As a person, Vishal is very calm and composed.

Why the name 'Kaminey' for your film?
When Vishal told me about the title of the movie even I had the same expression that why this name. I even told him that the audience has known me as an actor who mostly does family oriented movies. And this name might leave a wrong impression about me. Then Vishal convinced me that the title is suitable as per the script of the film. And also all the characters in the film are 'Kamina' in one way or the other.

You are playing a double role in 'Kaminey'. Tell us about your character in the film? And you are closest to whom?
Yes, it’s a double role. I play two brothers, Charlie and Guddu who share the bond of hatred. These too characters have articulation problems. Charlie cannot articulate the ‘s’ sound and calls it ‘ph’. And Guddu also stammers. Neither of them is like me as they are quite original and strong characters.

Do you recall any memorable moment while you were shooting for the movie?
Yeah, there was one sequence in which Priyanka had to drive me on a scooter on a bumpy road. I asked her whether she knows how to drive. She was very confident. She drove so fast that we ended up falling. Fortunately, we did not get hurt but surely that moment is memorable.

What’s your dream role?
If given a chance, I would have loved to do Omkara’s lead role as it has different shades in one character which is interesting as well as challenging for every actor. Another is from my dad’s movie, Maqbool. I loved Irfan Khan’s role.

What parameters do you keep in mind while choosing a film
First and foremost I read the script. If it’s strong then I don’t mind working with new directors too.

What qualities do you want in your dream girl?
It’s a very simple yet difficult thing. All my close ones know me from the time when I wasn’t an actor. It doesn’t matter to them that I am a star now. So any girl who’ll love me as a person and not because I am an actor will catch my eyes. I’ll too accept her and love her for what she is.

What keeps you moving in thick and thin of your career or your love life?
I solely believe in Karma. I have never wished anything for myself. I started working when I was 16. I got my first movie at 21. So, I have kept it simple and that keeps me moving.
