Nauman wins MTV Roadies Hell Down Under

The arguments, the challenges, plotting, planning, swearing and the melodrama are all left behind as Nauman, Kiri and Palak walk ahead to claim the title of MTV Hero Honda Roadies 6.0.

All charged up, the roadies are taken to a rocky terrain, where a rock climbing task is set up on a steep slope. Kiri took an early lead and was cheered by the other roadies all the way up to the summit, where he came face-to-face with the twin baldies in their devilish look.

Kiri was asked to pick one out of Nauman and Palak and take him forward to the next round.

Poor guy -- a difficult situation, a difficult choice, and two difficult chiefs. Raghu and Rajiv, once again, banged his head from all sides with their verbal hammers and Kiri was finally convinced that he wants to compete with Nauman, despite knowing he’d be a tougher competition.

Palak was dropped as Nauman and Kiri progressed to their final task, which was only a race but a weird one. They were only required to cover a short distance and grab the MTV Roadies flag at the end BUT their limbs were heavily chained and they were asked to walk bare foot, dragging a heavy load attached to their backs.

In typical MTV style I’d say….What the F***?

Is that some real task? A bloody test of physical strength? Was there any excitement? Are their brains rotten? Couldn’t they come up with something better?

The boys looked like donkeys, loaded with cotton five times their weight, asked to jump in water and then run a race.

In a bid to get tougher and more dreadful, the show has actually got boring. Anyway we’ll scrutinize that in coming weeks.

As for the task, Nauman suffered a bruise on his foot, was badly bleeding and seemed quite low with Kiri’s early progress and his support from the crowd. At a point, he seemed to have just lost it but suddenly the guy picked momentum and started approaching his destination with a magical ardor and eventually grabbed the flag first.

Kiri was not far but he confessed he had become over-confidant after leaving Nauman behind in the first few minutes. Probably he didn’t read that ‘Rabbit and Tortoise’ story in school, where the obviously quicker and over-confidant rabbit looses to the ‘slow and steady’ tortoise.

Besides the trophy Nauman got to take home a fat cheque nearing some 4 lakhs and not to mention the much talked about RESPECT. All this while, everyone had been teasing him of being girlish and delicate; but he made them bite their words by ousting Kiri in the supposedly manly task.

The journey is over for the Roadies, not for us, there’s more to come. Keep logging in.
