Mumbai, July 2: India’s oldest private general entertainment channel (GEC) Zee TV has won viewership crown after a long - long time.

For Week-26, that ended on June 30, Zee TV was first in the GEC chart with 243.1 GRPs, whereas COLORS was on second position with 242.8 GRPs and STAR Plus with 218.5 GRPs. STAR Plus and COLORS are the major competitors for Zee. Where COLORS is a new entertainment channel, STAR Plus is almost equally old as Zee TV.

Manish Borwal, a media expert said, "It's very pleasant to see Zee making a comeback. It was long overdue."

Raja Hassan's first solo album launched

Raja Hassan, the first runner-up of Zee’s musical talent hunt show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, released his first solo album nearly two years after he rose to fame. The album titled Yaar Mila De Re, being launched by Universal Music, promises an acoustic treat.

“I am thankful to Zee TV and Jazz who have honored their promise of launching my album. For a singer, there is no greater achievement than seeing their hard work in the form of a CD!! I shall remain obliged to them forever!” stated an elated Raja at the launch of his album.

Lewis Terence reveals unrequited love

Choreographer Lewis Terence on Thursday revealed his unrequited love on the famous dance reality show “Dance India Dance” on Zee TV where he is one of the mentors.

According to sources, Terence performed on “Tadap tadap ke...”, a sad number from Salmaan Khan and Aishwarya Rai starrer “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” with his contestants Jai Kumar and Alisha Singh. After the performance, he was quite emotional as he recalled his love which was unreciprocated.

"Terence Lewis was a 20+ lad when he was madly in love with this girl from his college. Just when their love story was about to blossom and fly high, fate intervened and clipped its wings," said our source, talking about his love story.
