Spears settles lawsuit by ex-manager, pays $193,000

London, June 7: Britney Spears has settled a lawsuit brought against her by a former manager by paying $193,000 as part of the legal settlement.

Contactmusic.com reports that Spears was sued by Florida-based Johnny Wright, who she worked with from 1999 until 2003, over claims the singer breached a contract by failing to pay him between 2006 and 2008.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the case was settled in court Friday although terms of the financial agreement were not disclosed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz approved the settlement and also signed off $193,000 in legal fees to be paid by the singer, the majority going to the attorneys who handed the Wright case.

No alcohol allowed at Britney's tour venue

London, June 6: Guests at Britney Spears London performances were fuming after the pop star's father banned alcohol in any area that she may pass through.

Instead of the usual glasses of chilled beer, ticket holders were being handed bottles of water in a bid to keep the singer away from booze while on tour, reported thesun.co.uk.

"Following her problems with alcohol, Britney had requested that everywhere backstage is alcohol free," said a source.

"Her family is monitoring the situation very carefully and we've been made to sign contracts promising not to drink or allow any of the VIP guests to have alcohol in any of the backstage areas that Britney could use," added the source.

However, the guests weren't impressed with the decision.
