Aamir apologises to Dhobi community; settles title row

Interestingly, after finding out Dhobi Mahasangh’s objection, the husband-wife immediately arranged a meeting with the community leaders and conveyed their apologies, if they have hurt their feelings.

Aamir told the community leaders that they were not aiming to offend or create controversy with the film’s title. And if they knew that they will be offending people, then they would have simply chosen some other title.

"When I met (Amit) Khatriji, Kanoji and Dr Satishji (of the community's associations), I realized that unknowingly we might have hurt someone.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present ...PRATEIK! His audition was pitch perfect (no wonder, with such a legacy!), and with and great charm he brought my Munna to life,” wrote the filmmaker in praise for Prateik.

Just like any other filmmaker, Kiran, post-production, is busy promoting her film. However, debutante filmmaker is not using traditional marketing strategies like holding press conferences etc, instead, she is writing postcards to attract attention towards her film.

‘Dhobi Ghat’ more or less related to incidents in my life--Kiran Rao

"It is a film about four people and the city of Mumbai - four ordinary people whose lives intersect and become forever altered as they journey through longing, loneliness, loss and love.

News:

Anusha was aware of the promotional strategies—Kiran Rao

Apparently, couple of months back, first time director of hit off-beat film ‘Peepli Live’ Anusha Rizvi, had disassociated herself from the film stating that her film was being wrongly promoted as a commercial film due to which its message is in danger of getting lost.

However, as per Kiran, Anusha just like other members of the team was aware of all the promotional strategies from the start and some of them were suggested by Anusha herself.
