Story line
Hit by recession in London and scared of losing their loved ones, two college friends -- Jerry alias Jignesh Patel (Akshay Kumar) and Nick Mathur (John Abraham) -- decide to become male escorts.
Jerry has a small, orphaned, school-going nephew Veer (Master Virej Desai) to look after, while Nick wants to marry his girlfriend Radhika Awasthi (Deepika Padukone), who dreams of a fairytale wedding, a great honeymoon, and a wonderful house to live in after marriage.
A source close to the unit admitted that Akshay and John are portraying the characters of male strippers in 'Desi Boyz' and that could be the reason Censor board decided to give it an ‘A’ certificate.
“The makers of 'Desi Boyz' were expecting a U/A certificate since it's a big-budget film and with Akshay and John in the cast they were largely targeting the family audience and youth as well. Unfortunately for them, the film has been given an Adult certification," said the source.
Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh are leaving no stone unturned to outshine each other in the forthcoming film 'Desi Boyz,' which has both the beauties in starring roles.
Reportedly, in Vipul Shah’s ‘Force’, John has to sport a beefy, muscular look, whereas in Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Desi Boyz’, the hunk has to flaunt a slim, slender avatar, and as the shooting for both the movies is taking place at the same time, the hero is doing all he can to hold on to both the looks.
Talking about John and his efforts, an insider said, “John is very particular about his body and getting a desired look the healthy way. He doesn’t advocate short cuts at any cost.
One of the reasons for sharing amicable relations is their past. Both have survived heartbreaks.
In the proposal by a wealthy NRI family in London, Deepika was asked to perform on a 4 minute title track from Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maaro Dum’.
