The story starts on a joyous note when Manohar (R Madhavan), an engineer by profession, shifts to a new home, 13B, with wife (Neetu Chandra), mother (Poonam Dhillon), father (Sachin) brother and sister.
As the film starts, audience also starts enjoying watching the perfectly happy, family female members of which happen to be “Saas Bahu” serial fans.
After shifting to the new flat, strange incidents start happening with Manohar, like lift stopping to work whenever Manohar boards it alone, distorted images flashing on his mobile phone, his bathroom bulb never turning off etc., that successfully create suspense and terror. And when the female folks in his house start following a new TV show called “Sab Khairiyat”, coming daily at 1300 hours at channel number 13 only in his house.
Manohar soon figures out that there is something strange happening in his life that exactly resemble the TV show “Sab Khairiyat”.
Shocked and tense, Manohar starts struggling to find answers to the situation. And the only way he can protect his family is by becoming a TV addict himself.
Debutante director Vikram K Kumar has done a smart job of storytelling. R Madhavan is too good as the protagonist, troubled by the TV. He has done justice to the story by adding absolute conviction to his character. Neetu Chandra’s role is small but she has managed it perfectly.
Brilliant acting of Madhavan handling the bizarre situations, good screenplay and narration make “13 B” a must-watch film.
