Raja Hassan's first solo album launched

Raja Hassan, the first runner-up of Zee’s musical talent hunt show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, released his first solo album nearly two years after he rose to fame. The album titled Yaar Mila De Re, being launched by Universal Music, promises an acoustic treat.

“I am thankful to Zee TV and Jazz who have honored their promise of launching my album. For a singer, there is no greater achievement than seeing their hard work in the form of a CD!! I shall remain obliged to them forever!” stated an elated Raja at the launch of his album.

Son of famous musician and vocalist Rafiq Sagar, this singing sensation from Bikaner owes the entire credit of his album to his father, who has done the lyrics and the music for the album. Produced by Pramod Juneja, a friend of Hassan’s father, the album has seven tracks.

“The sound of the album is a mix of the music sound of the 80s and the present sound. The songs are long - just like you heard in the 80s but the treatment is modern. The songs on this album range from sufi, pop, rock, peppy dance numbers and even (Kabir's) dohe,” said Hassan. And he is quite right, for you cannot fail to appreciate the passion and zeal behind each track of the album.

The album has a beautiful fusion of western and semi-classical flavor in it. Every single track catches various emotions of mind very vividly.

The title track of the album, ‘Yaar Mila De Re’ has soulful and intense rendering. The whole video of this song has been shot in the beautiful locales of Bikaner.

Another track ‘Sajna jaye pardes’ is a semi-classical with a touch of Sufism in it.

‘Tan ghayal ghayal kar gayi’, the last track of the album, is filled with Punjabi flavor in it.

The album was launched at the Famous Studio Mahalakshmi in Mumbai.
